How to Create Birthday Campaign?

What is a Birthday Campaign? #

A Birthday Campaign is a marketing strategy designed to celebrate a customer’s birthday by sending them special offers, discounts, or personalized messages. It helps businesses build stronger relationships with customers by making them feel valued and appreciated.

Step 1: Create the rewards for the campaign. #

  1. Create Reward (Tutorial: How to Create Rewards )
    Click ‘New Reward’ to create the reward and fill in all the reward details.
  1. Edit Reward (if you have created it)

Step 2: Enable the Auto-Assign to Birthday Customers and Distribution #

Ensure that ‘Auto-Assign to Birthday Customers’ and ‘Auto-Assign on the Day of Registration’ are activated in the Reward Automation. Also, check that the distribution (Configuration) settings are enabled.

Step 3: Get The Links #

Direct Link Access automatically redirects customers to the reward after they log in to your membership.

Once you’ve created the rewards, enable the ‘Customer Direct Link’ option under Configuration. Then, copy the link to include it in your message later.

To ensure the reward is only available to customers who receive the link, simply disable the ‘Display in Customer Portal (Marketplace)’ option in the configurations. This will prevent it from being accessible to everyone

Step 4: Select “Campaigns” from the Dashboard. #

After you finish setting up the rewards and configurations, you can now start creating the campaign.

Step 5: Click “Created Templeted Campaign” #

Step 6: Choose the “Birthday” option #

Step 7: Fill in the information of the Campaigns #

  • Name: The name of the campaign.
  • Broadcast channel: Select the channel to broadcast the campaign (Email, SMS, or WhatsApp). To remove an option, click the “X” next to the channel name.
  • Send at: the specific time you choose to send the campaign or message to your customers.
  • Message: You can use or edit the template message from Pixalink to write the welcome message. Here, you can paste the reward link you copied earlier.
  • Attachment: Insert an image, PDF, or short GIF. You can also use the image of the reward.

Show Variables provides a list of dynamic variables that can be used in messages. By copying and pasting these variables, you can insert placeholders that automatically fill in customer-specific details when sending messages. Here’s what each one does:

  1. {{CUSTOMER_NAME}}
    Returns the customer’s name in the message.
    Example: If the customer’s name is “Ali,” the message will display “Ali” instead of the placeholder.
  2. {{RANDOM_TAG}}
    Generates a random 4-digit number between 0001 and 9999.
    Helps reduce the risk of getting banned on WhatsApp by making each message unique.
    Example Output: #0185
  3. {{CURRENT_POINT}}
    Displays the customer’s current points in the message.
    Example: If the customer has 500 points, the message will show “500” instead of the placeholder.

Step 8: Click Create to save your campaign #

Step 9: Setup Complete #

Your campaign now automatically sends to customers whose birthdays fall in the current month. You don’t need to broadcast it manually as long as the templated campaign remains active.

Note: Templated campaigns send automatically; however, you need to send custom campaigns manually.
